I don’t know what I’m doing on here anymore. I want so badly to make this a thing again. To make it part of my every day again but I don’t think I can. It was easier before because I had three years of work out of the way, but to start over just seems redundant and I’m not one to wallow in my mistakes. (yes I am.)

I’m not coldhearted -
I’m just tired
Of getting burned
By the same fire.

The reality of a poem is a very ghostly one. It suggests, it suggests, it suggests again.
We all have that one thing in our life that’s beautiful. And I’m so glad mine is you.

If it doesn’t come bursting out of you in spite of everything, don’t do it.
Unless it comes unasked out of your heart and your mind and your mouth and your gut, don’t do it.

If you’re doing it for money or fame, don’t do it.

If you’re doing it because you want women in your bed,
 don’t do it.
If it’s hard work just thinking about doing it,
 don’t do it.
If you have to wait for it to roar out of you,
then wait patiently.
If it never does roar out of you,
 do something else.

Unless it comes out of your soul like a rocket,
unless being still would drive you to madness or suicide or murder, don’t do it.
Unless the sun inside you is burning your gut, don’t do it.
When it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen, It will do it by itself
and it will keep on doing it until you die
or it dies in you.
There is no other way.

And there never was.

there is a great need in all of us to be accepted, but you must trust what is unique or different about yourself, even if it is odd or unpopular. As Frost said, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less travelled by,/ And that has made all the difference.”
— John Keating, Dead Poet’s Soceity (via causeimjustateenagedirtbagbaby)
No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.
— John Keating (via in-vul-nrable)
We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering… these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love… these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, ‘O me! O life!…of the questions of these recurring, of the endless trains of the faithless…of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here…that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.’ That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.
What will your verse be?
So avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose. Language was invented for one reason, boys - to woo women - and, in that endeavor, laziness will not do. It also won’t do in your essays.

Farewell, Mr. Williams. We’re really going to miss you.

Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR LIVES EXTRAORDINARY. O CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN, REST IN PEACE.

This is a tough restart to do. My old blog had a lot of my heart and soul in it and years of building. This is kind of scary but I think it’s going to be good. Here’s to starting over, new beginnings, and new adventures. Welcome to my life.
